I've spent years looking for my great grandparents - I located my great-grandmother on the 1880 census, living in Koshkonong, WI with her parents and 5 siblings. That is the last I can find of any of them, except I know that her father, O.C. RIGGS, died about 1883 in Wisconsin. (His death certificate has virtually no information on it.)

Her name was Electa RIGGS and she married Edward James Gilmore sometime around 1882, and moved to Winnebago County, IL.

Do you have any records of births for THOMAS RIGGS (b. ca. 1878 or 79); or marriages for Electa RIGGS and Edward GILMORE? Or any other references to the RIGGS family or GIlMORE FAmily in Koshkonong? If someone could check on this for me I'd be deeply grateful, and willing to pay whatever costs or contributions or membership necessary.
Names:

O.C. RIGGS (b. ca. 1822 d. 1883))
HARRIET RIGGS (HIS WIFE)
ELECTA RIGGS (b. 1865 or 66)my grt. grd.
Her siblings
FRANK RIGGS
CHARLES RIGGS
HAWLEY RIGGS (spelled "HACOLEY sometimes)
THOMAS RIGGS

I am in possession of 3 albums with photos taken apx. 1896. Most of these were taken at studios in Fox Lake with a very few at Waupun & a couple in Milwau. It appears that the families may have possibly originally come from Holland. Apparently some of the family moved out to Washington state. There are no names save a newspaper clipping for a marriage in New Whatcom, Washington State for a F M Yount and a Miss L J Gossink. Does any of this sound like your family? Please contact me.

I am a descendent of James SHORT and Betsy RITCHIE SHORT. They immigrated to the St. Lawrence Co, NY in the late 1820's or early 1830's. They married in 1832 in St. Lawrence NY. The first 3 of their 10 children were born in NY. Then they moved to Jefferson Co. WI, where the remainder of their children were born. Areas mentioned in family documents are Fort Atkinson, Lake Ripley, Oakland. James and Betsy both died in Jefferson Co. I have much information re the dates of births and deaths, but am curious to know as much as possible... perhaps locations of where buried, etc. Any help will be appreciated. Although I was born in Waukesha Co. and lived my early life in New Berlin, I've lived in Texas since the mid 1960's and can not get information easily. I wonder also if James and Betsy became naturalized citizens in Jefferson Co..... Please email to gschmear@cmpu.net

D/J CGS Just mailed me two obits. on Landers'. Whoever found them, I owe you big time, thank you so much. You have given me the name of a brother to HENRY LANDER. A brother I knew existed but didn't know who or where!
His name is W.S. Lander "of this place. The older citizens will rember the family."
I'm assuming this is Palmyra or at least Jefferson Co. the obit says the "late"
W.S. Lander so he must have died sometime in early 1900's there. Any suggestions for my next step?

I would like someone to check for the marriage record for George A. YAHN which would have happened about 1876, most likely in Jefferson County. The woman he married, we know as Minnie from her obituary. It states she was born 24-Feb-1854 in Helenville, WI and spent her childhood there. She married George, 22 years later. I don't know her maiden name. If you locate the marriage record, can you also try to locate her birth record and possibly his as well?

If you have any questions I can answer to narrow your search, please email me.

Sincerely,
