I am looking for a gt.gt. uncle last name is EDWARDS.I know very little about him. This hunt is truly detective work. He had 6 brothers and one sister. One brother was my gt.grandfather, Bert Elgin Edwards - who lived most of his life in Oregon. His sister was Ella Carrie Edwards. She eventually settled in California - married to an Issac Henthorne. Another brother Alphonso Charles (A.C.) Edwards resided in Spokane Washington most of his life, but died in Fullerton, California. It was in his obituary I found the whereabouts of his last surviving brother - Ed Edwards in Dodge County, Wisconsin. Only problem is, none of the other 4 brothers names are Ed. Therefore I am assuming that "Ed" was a nickname. The 4 brothers names were Charles Porter born in 1847 in Ohio, Eo Rio born in 1855 in Wisconsin, Sibbie Eddie born 1856 in Wisconsin (my guess for "Ed") and Ivers Cummings born 1863 in Wisconsin. Any information you can provide for me will be greatly appreciated.

I am the great-grandson of William (Wilhelm) Schimmel, born somewhere in Prussia on July 24, 1858. His parents were Christian and Louise Schimmel who brought the family over in 1871, shortly after coming to Watertown. Siblings were Herman, Mina (later Minnie Fischer of Boston), Augusta, Dora. At the end of his life, Willhelm belonged to the First Congregational Churchl. I do not find the family in the records of St. Johns or St. Luke's Lutheran churches--they might be in other records. Where can I get other church records. Above all, can anyone tell me where in Germany these people came from? I have all kinds of articles, obituaries, documents, and they all just say "Germany" or in one case, "Prussia". Help!

Trying to tie in other Hoefs related to my greatgrandmother, Emilie Hoefs Radloff. They came to US in 1886 from Kr Regenwalde in Pommern. Her death certificate says her father was John. However at Zion Lutheran in Clyman there was a Karl Hoefs Sr who died. Charles Hoefs is on the 1910 census on almost adjacent farms to the Radloffs east of Clyman. It appears that Charles and brother Albert came to US in 1881. I would be interested in the obit of Harold C. Hoefs who died 3/31/1989 at Clyman, who seems to be descended from Charles Hoefs. Thanks for all you help.
