John Alexander and his family settled in Watertown in 1845. His son Joseph started a general store and/or shoe repair business sometime in the next several years. I was wondering if there are any records of where this might have been, or any other records of the family. (They would have had connections to the Methodist church.)

Information on KRANZ, KRENZ family. Siblings John KRENZ, Henry KRENZ, August KRENZ, Wilhelmina KRENZ Langholft, and William KRANTZ. William KRANTZ married Augustine GIESE and moved to Illinois and then to Grundy County, Iowa. Are these siblings? Are there other siblings? Hello! Two of my son-in-law's families wandered into Wisconsin (actually three, but I won't push my luck) and I have only found traces (a faint trace at that) of one of them. The two giving me the most merry chase are Milo McMillen and wife Huldah? Clark, and the Kelsey's. I did have a Milo sighting recently; he purchased land from the government - patent at BLO - in Jefferson County in 1848. If you have anything on Milo McMillen and family, like a census record, and the Henry Kelsey and Jane Brown Kelsey family, I would be more than happy to join your society. Milo's daughter Lenore married Henry Kelsey Jr. and moved on to Oregon. Their granddaughter Neva, however, backtracked to Michigan which is where I am. And we have no Wisconsin census' here in Grand Rapids!

Thanks for reading my plaintive request.

Johannes Pedersen EIDSHAUG and his wife Andrea Gundersdatter SAUG came to Jefferson Co., Wisconsin from Telemark in 1853 with three small children. At least one child, Peter (b. 1855), was born to them in Jefferson Co. By 1860 they were located in the Stockholm area, Pepin Co. Johannes' parents, Peder Olsen ROLIGHEDEN (b. 1793) and Inger Steensdatter EIDSHAUG (b. 1781), are supposed to have emigrated with him. I can find no record of their deaths in Wisconsin. Looking for information on the family of Michael and Appolonia Fuchs. The family arrived in Jefferson county in July of 1851. They lived in and around the Sullivan, Jefferson area. The last bit of information I have on the family is Michael's death on Nov 26 1871. I have not been able to find any record of Appolonia or her children past 1871. The following children were listed on the 1870 census of Sullivan township: George 17, William 14, Peter 13, Barbary 12, John 8, Matilda 4, Christina 2. Appolonia was 45. It may me possible that she remarried. George Fuchs/Fox was my g-g grandfather. He married Kathrine Dvorak in Watertown in 1880 or 1881. He moved to Pierce Co. about 1884. Any new leads or information would be of great help.

I believe I have family members who were born in Jefferson County. I don't know where to get a hold of an Index for the 1860 census to verify this myself. Can someone help me? Where do I find a census index. The name I'm looking for is Michael Dealy (Daly) who married Mary Gregg and gave birth to Mary Dealy (Daly) in Wisconsin.
