QUERY 0303200601:  Dear webmaster of dodgejeffgen.com!

I try to research of all Lentz / Lenz persons from the Brandenburg, Eastbrandenburg, Pommern, Westprussia area; short: from Prussia.  Here in East-Brandenburg (Neumark) were my Lenz roots and so I'm searching in these provinces.

In some archives, bibliotheks in germany we have 2 books: 'Chronik des Lentzeschen Geschlechts' The 1th was published in 1904, the 2th in 1908. These books are only to rent for some weeks, but not to buy.

I worked with these books and I think, I've found some facts about LENTZ persons on your website.

Excample:   http://www.dodgejeffgen.com/

Zum Kripplein Christi Lutheran Cemetery #83

Dodge County, Herman Twsp., Sec. 8 S.E.

On the website I found:  LENTZ, August K. b 1883   d 1958

In the Lentz Chronik I find:

LENTZ, AUGUST Karl Arthur;

b 28 Dez 1883 in Town Herman,

d later than 1907 (2th book was published in 1908)

He was the 2. son of AUGUST Karl Ferdinand LENTZ and AUGUSTE Luise Friederike DRENDEL; He studied music in Milwaukee WI, goes 1906 for study to Berlin, than he goes to Chicago and studied further some instruments by Prof. Hugo Hermann.  AUGUST gives this and more information about his family to the book scriber, H. Kypke (Pastor).

Please, do you know one with more knowledge about the person on your website, specially about the LENTZ/LENZ and related people? Possible a genealogist or a person from the further LENTZ family?  All help are welcome, I hope we can change information.

Thank you very much for your time.

QUERY 0305200601:  Subject: Drowned at Randolph

I have a record of an English newspaper entry for 1894 stating that BENJAMIN BURT, aged 42 years was drowned at Randolph, Wisconsin on 9 June.

BENJAMIN BURT was the younger brother of my gggrandfather JOHN BURT and I have no idea how or when he went to America.  He was most likely to be farming at this time.

There is a note of BENAJMIN living at Randolph, Westford Township in the 1872 Dodge County Gazetteer, but I would like to find out the circumstances of his drowning and where he is buried.  There is no mention in the English obituary of any family but he may have been married.  Any information would be gratefully received.

QUERY 0306200601:  To whom it may concern,

I have been working with a second cousin of mine to do genealogical research on our family, and have found a connection to Watertown that we are hoping you might be able to help us with. Our great great grandparents immigrated from Giesenau, Prussia in 1851 and settled for a few years in Watertown before moving on to Henderson, Minnesota. They were Ludwig Klatte (b. May 1806, d. 1858) and his wife, Henrietta (b. Apr 1814, d. Apr 1894), and they had 9 children, one of whom, a boy, we believe was born in Watertown.

A search of your website turned up one mention of a Klatte family being one of the founders of the Moravian Church there

That being an unusual name, we assume it is probably Ludwig and Henrietta. We are wondering if you could tell us where you got that information, who found it, and whether there might be any more information about the Klattes than was mentioned in the article. Obviously, any other information could be very useful to us in our research.

The other thing we are going to be looking at is any connections to the many people named Lehmann that are buried in your cemeterys. Henrietta Klatte's maiden name was Lehmann, so we are wondering if they may have come to Watertown because other family members were already there.

In case you can't help us with any of the specific information we are asking for, I wonder if you could pass this email along to anyone else who might be able to help us out.

I appreciate your time, and look forward to hearing from you.

I am interested in locating researchers of the Strasburg surname in Jefferson County.  More specifically, Strasburg’s that had their origins in Sommersdorf or Grunz of Kreis Randow, Pommerania.  My research of Strasburg’s in Eau Claire County indicate that after early arrivals in America, they first settled in the Lake Mills area before finally settling in Eau Claire County.  I have visited Sommersdorf, Germany several times and have viewed old church records which proved my Strasburg link to that area of Germany.  I would be interested in sharing genealogical data with Jefferson County Strasburg researchers.

Query 0118200701  Subject: Sumner J Marsh

Does anyone know Sumner J Marsh’s parents? He was born in 1821 in Vermont and moved to Wisconsin in the early 1840s.  He resided in Hebron where he enlisted in the civil war and died at Camp Randall post hospital in 1865.

Query 0121200701  Subject: William Bonner 1822-1825

I am searching for information on William Bonner, born 1822-1825.

He arrived in the U.S. about 1839 with his parents and at least two other brothers, Robert and David.  Robert was a Newspaper publisher and Trotter Horse Breeder in New York.  David was a stockbroker who settled in Stamford, CT.

I believe that William lived in Hartford, CT until after 1850.  He was married to a Mary A., born about 1846 in Ohio.  They had at least two children, Allie and William R., after which I lost them on the census trail.

My 6th great-grandmother, Rachel Bonner-Evans and William's grandfather were siblings in Ireland.  Until this information came to life, I was not able to find any information on this branch of my family.  I'm hoping to share with another branch of the Bonner family that might take me back to Ireland/Wales.

Query 0122200701  Subject: Widmann Family in Jefferson Co

I’m looking for any information about  Jakob and Margaretha Widmann in Jefferson Co around 1860s.  I know they applied for emigration at Wurttenberg in August of 1851.  I found them on Ancestry.coms 1860 census as Whitman and the 1870 census as Widtmann.  I’m not sure if they were married when they came here, but I do know that they had a son John born in 1859.  Jakob was in the civil war – enlisted March of 1865.  Any info that anyone has about them would be greatly appreciated.  I have also posted a similar query on the rootweb page for Jefferson County.

Thanks!   Jen

I believe this might be Nickolas.  Thank you ahead of time for any help that you can give.

Query 0131200701  Subject: Clover Lawn School

I am looking for information about the Clover Lawn School that was located off of Hwy 33 somewhat near Allenton Wisconsin in Dodge County.  I am specifically looking for photos from the late 1930's to early-mid 1940's of students from that school. My Father, Evarist Henke was reported to have been in some of the photos--I would like to get some copies.

If anyone knows of someone doing research on this school I would love to get in touch with them.
