Subject: Families in Dodge and Jefferson Counties

LEHNER, BAUER, HUNDHAUSEN, SCHWELLENBACH, SCHULD, MOSER and ETZBACH families from both Dodge and Jefferson Counties in Wisconsin.  The Lehner and Bauer families were from Dodge county and the Hundhausen, Schwellenbach, Schuld, Moser and Etzbach families were from Jefferson County.

Especially looking for information on my Moser family.  I have very little information.  Barbara Moser married Frank Joseph Schuld, she was born on 29 November 1854.  I have that her parents were Michael Moser and Anna "Mary" Maria Mo(e)ssburger.  Any information on this family would be GREATLY appreciated!

Nicole, Wisconsin

Subject: Faville Grove

I am descended from Reverend Comfort Waller, whose granddaughter married Stoughton Faville. Apparently, an area just outside of Lake Mills was inhabited by a number of Favilles that was referred to as "Faville Grove". There was even a stone schoolhouse from 1872 that was erected there.

I would be interested in any information, stories or photographs of Faville Grove. Thank you very much!

Subject: Dodge county obits

I am looking for an obit on Michael Dempsey who died May 18, 1892.  He grew up in Elba, but died in Idaho.  I am hoping that since his father was still living in Elba/Watertown area at the time of his death, that there would be an obit for him in Wisconsin.  He is the son of Christopher and Anna Dempsey.

Another obit that I am hoping exists is one for Catherine Clifford Dempsey who grew up in Clyman, and died in Minnesota Sept 4, 1874 .  Her body was taken back to Clyman for burial so there again since her parents were living there perhaps there is an obit for her as well.

Her parents are John Clifford whom I have no death date for, and Mary Gallagher Clifford who died Nov. 12, 1883 and is buried in Holy Assumption in Clyman.  I am looking for a death date for John and obits for both of them. They lived near Emmet I think.

Thanks  /  Carol in Iowa

Subject: Staabs

Looking for any info you can find on Clara Staabs Glassman. She was my grandmother, but I'm having a hard time finding anything out about her.  She married Theodore Glassman.  All I have is that she was the daughter of Charles Staabs, don't have mothers name, and not sure when she was born.  My mother told me 1882.

Subject: Gottlieb Pasbrig

Hello! I am looking for information on Gottlieb Pasbrig, mainly interested to know his parents names. I know Gottlieb was born in Germany in 1860 and moved to Horicon, Wi in 1871. I found his second intent of naturalization in North Dakota, thanks to the help of their historical society. They also told me there would be no first intent of naturalization since he would have been listed under his father's name, and now that is the person for who I am looking.  Thank you for any assistance you can give me. Subject: Zubke Family

I am long distance member of your society.  I am looking for any information about the Zubke family of the Watertown and Lebanon area. My family story is that my grandfather Erhardt Stiemke was to have had a cousin (1st or 2nd, unknown) named August Zubke

who came to visit with his wife at my grandfather farm in township of Concord.  This seems to have taken place about the 1920's.  "They came from Germany. Spoke low German."

Also looking for Kollath and Klug families.  Thank you ahead of time for any leads.       Jan Luethy

Subject: Looking for early Melcher and Knispel records

I am trying to validate the earliest dates in Watertown for the George Knispel Family - wife Marie and children Julius, Caroline and Meary. Julius Knispel Married Auguste Melcher who moved to Watertown with her family in the early 1850s. I believe most went to St. Johns. I have applied at Whitewater College for Naturalization records but none could be found. I believe Auguste's father was Johann Friederich(ck) - mother was a Gegorius(spelling). I think most of these families had members living together at various times. What or where would be the most logical place to look for the earliest records available or naturalization records and petitions? Also have come up empty for Meary Knispel - suggestions would be so appreciated as to where to look.

I have all of them on the 1860 census records but nothing before that other than an obit that talks about the early days for Auguste and her family.  /  Thanks

Subject: Re: Richwood

I'm looking for any information on the little town of Richwood. Would like to locate the antique store which was housed in the former Catholic Church there - not sure if it was the one which was housed next door in the little house approx 25 years ago. It may possibly have relocated to Delafield. Purchased a scrapbook there from the Solon Brothers store which was in Richwood in the 1890's. Also interested to know if there is any history written about Richwood which would give the location of the Solon Brothers store. I am researching the Solon family who resided in that area after coming from County Mayo, Ireland in 1847

Would appreciate any information-we are hoping to put together a reunion for 2005 and would like to visit the area where the family lived.

Thanks-  /  Pat Solon Rogers-pasolonrog@aol.com

Subject: Jefferson County genealogy query

Hello!  I am trying to find some information about my ancestors Ursula (Jussen; b. 1832, d. 1891 in Appleton, WI) and Benjamin (F?) Campbell.  Their daughter Molly (Marie?) was born in 1853 in Watertown and died in 1926.  Although I find that Benjamin lived in Watertown in 1855, I can't find any information about his lineage.  He may have moved to Columbus, WI.  In 1863 Ursula filed for a Civil War pension for a dead soldier named Benjamin Campbell, but as a guardian rather than a widow.  Does anyone recognize these names?  /  Thanks!

Hello!  On February 25th, I wrote to ask you about a Benjamin Franklin Campbell (born abt. 1825 in NY) who married Ursula Jussen.  Since then, I believe I've found information indicating that he came to Wisconsin with his parents and married here.  I would still be interested in any potential marriage records you might have, but I think I have to turn to New York to trace his genealogy back further.  I hope I haven't wasted any of your time!!    /  Ann
