METHODIST CEMETERY, Portland Township, Dodge Co., WI Can you tell me when this cemetery came into existence? I was sent a sheet from the listing of this cemetery - #159 (no page number) copied by J. & M. Quella. Section 18 Middle

My dilema is that a date for Amelia Sophy LINDERMAN shows d. May 20, 1843 at age 3 mo. The parents of Amelia, Stephen and Charlotte LINDERMAN, did not arrive in Dodge Co. until June 1843. They were among the first settlers and I am not sure the Church or the cemetery was in existence as early as May 1843. If the date of death on the gravestone is correct then it means they brought her body with them from Boone Co., IL!

The next earliest date listed on this sheet is 1846.

Thanks for your help.

My ancestor is Alexander Friedrich Wilhelm VOIGT who arrived in Mayville Wisconsin about 1852. His wife was Charlotte Henrietta Kientoff. Their children were Pauline (1856), Augusta Henrietta Clara (1846), Adolph G(1851), Mary A (1851), Anna (1843), Ida (1848), Hugo (1844), Emma (1865) and Bertha Alice(1854). The family is on the 1860 Williamstown/Mayville post office census as William and Henrietta VOIGHT.

Ida married Fredrick Barneck and moved to Salina KS. Mary Voigt also moved to Salina KS where she married M.D. Berg. Adolph G. Voigt married Margaret Johndro moved to Minnesota - he died in Albert Lea. Bertha married William Ridgley and moved to Oregon.

I believe that Alexander Voigt and Charlotte Henrietta Kientoff Voigt also lived in Ashland, Ashland Co and that she have died there.

I'm looking for information on the HENSLER family. My gg-grandmother was said to have been a HENSLER, however, we haven't been able to tie her to the correct family. Her name was WILHELMINA (HENSLER) NEUENDORF STETTNISCH. We have also seen her maiden name as DUNDEE. (This is a mystery as to the two different maiden names.) We have reason to believe that her extended family went to the Lutheran Church in Waterloo or that there may be records there that could help tie her to the Henslers of Jefferson County. She immigrated in 1877 with her husband, FRED NEUENDORF (NINEDORF) and his two children. Do you have any church records for the Lutheran church in Waterloo? If you do, would it be possible for you to look through them to see if there is any mention of WILHELMINA HENSLER. If she is indeed a Hensler, her parents may have been HERMAN HENSLER and CAROLINE EBERT.

Thank you for your help -- again.

Researching my son-in-law's family. Frederick CORNELIUS shows Lebanon, WI as his home when he enlisted in the 12th Battery, Light Artillery from WI during the Civil War. He eventually ended in Shawano County, marrying Augusta Grumbach. Frederick died about 1880 leaving a number of young children. I just found this Civil War information, and will research Dodge County for these people. If you have information on them, I would appreciate it.

I am a member living in California, and visited the library in May. I copied some valuable information, and had to leave before I finished. I was hoping someone could e-mail me information from the volume on "Passenger Lists from Pommerania 1843 from the port of Hamburg, Germany". It is a grey paper-covered volume about 3/8" thick and located on a bottom shelf. The names I'm searching are: Martin MARLOW and Friederike SCHUETT, and there were two others listed in the group (total 4). I'm searching for Friederike SCHUETT's maiden name, as well as her previous husbands's name, and this may help. Could you send the group's names and details? Thank you for any help you can give me. Sincerely, Lucille KRUEGER
